Our First Day

Jacob has warmed up to Dave. He pretty much is sticking to him like glue. He still does not want much to do with me yet. Last nigth we wanted to try and get some food into him so Dave walked to a restaurant and got a rice and meat dish. Dave was able to get him to eat a few spoon fools. He also brought back some milk that we were able to get him to drink. While Dave was gone at the store was when mom was good enough. But once Dave leaves the room Jacob sort of just melts and looks like a limp dishrag. Dave also gave him a bath last night or at least tried to. The stopper on the tub didn't seem to work but luckily the bathroom in our hotel has one of those shower heads that will detach from the wall and work like a sprayer. He didn't like it to much but was very tolerant of Dave washing him up. He slept with Dave last night and Emily slept with me, we went to bed around 9 and he just woke up at 5. Of course the rest of us were up at 3. Dave was able to make him smile a few times yesterday and he likes it when Emily is giving him treats. He likes the fruity cherrios and the fish crackers I brought. He has gone on the potty twice for Dave. I wasn't sure if he would regress in this area or not so I brought pull-ups with us but he woke up dry.
Later today we will be flying to Hanoi. This is where the rest of our paperwork will be processed. Yesterday while we were napping I recieved a phone call from the lobby from a reprasentive from our agency telling me to come to the lobby right away that there was a problem with our paperwork. Needless to say my heart stopped. So we went down as fast as we could it turns out they transposed two digits in our zip code and they are going to correct it and they should be bringing the corrrected adoption certificate to the hotel this morning. They assured us it should not delay our paperwork.

Good Golly, Could he be any cuter!! I love those pictures. Will his first English words be "CHEESE"?? You have Emily trained pretty well, i don't think it will take Jacob very long to catch on.
Best Wishes tommorrow!
Emily will have an email in about ten mins. I hope.
